I am a huge fan of using decorative mirror plates in the decor scheme of a room, as they have the ability to add character and class without overcrowding and creating a cluttered look. My favorite thing about decorative mirrors is that they create an illusion of depth, making a room appear larger. So, today I’m going to show you how to make your own decorative mirror plate/tray.
Here is what you will need
As a side note, you can go to Lowes and have them cut any size mirror you’d like for almost nothing, or you can go to Michaels or Hobby Lobby and buy a mirror plate there for about $7.00
Start at on of the corners of the mirror and place a dot of glue where you want to place the crystal
Quickly place the jewel on top of the mirror before the glue dries. Try to get it in the exact location because it’s hard to move the jewel once you stick it on top of the glue
Continue the same step as above working around the mirror until you get back to the first jewel
Once you have added all of the jewels to the mirror you should clean it with Windex. It’s likely that during the process of adding the jewels that some of the hot glue stuck the mirror in places that it shouldn’t have, if this case use rubbing alcohol to remove the excess glue, then clean the mirror down again with Windex.
Now you have a decorative mirror that can be used in a number of ways, below you’ll see a few ways that I like to use decorative mirror plates/trays.
I hope you enjoyed!!
