I’ve been known to go alittle crazy with the decorating and DIYing when Christmas time comes around and thanks to Pinterest I have an unlimited supply of new Christmas projects to try. Whooo Hooo!! Over the next few weeks I plan to post some fabulous Christmas Project tutorials starting with a series of Cone Christmas Tree Tutorials. The first Cone Christmas Tree Tutorial that I want to share is a Vintage Glam Christmas tree made from beads, crystal pendants, broaches and earrings.
Before I get started with the tutorial I wanted to let you know that you can purchase the same Foam Cones that you would pay anywhere from $4.99-$8.99 at Michaels for $1.00 at the Dollar Tree.
Okay, lets get started!!
Here is what you will need:
- Foam Cone
- Strands of Beads (I purchased mine from the clearance section of Walmart)
- Hot Glue Gun
- Pearl/Crystal Earrings/Broaches/Pendants
Step 1: I used a color scheme that consisted of White, Clear and Metallic Silver. I started by hot gluing the white and crystal beads. Start at the bottom of the cone and hot glue the beads in a spiral direction.
Step 2: Continue gluing all of the White and Clear beads before moving on to your other color, in my case Metallic Silver
Step 3: Once you have glued the White and Clear beads begin layering in the Metallic Silver beads (I saved a few strands of white and clear beads so I could display them in front of the tree)
Step 4: When you get to the top make sure you have enough beads to wrap around the top so that it comes to a point (I hope that makes sense)
Step 5: Now you can decorate your tree with pendants and earrings
I placed my vintage glam tree atop a platter of beads, pearls, broaches and pendants.
So, what do you think about my $1.00 Vintage Glam Christmas Tree??
