After finding the perfect outfit to bring my little Riley home from the hospital I really wanted to find a pair of black lace ruffle socks that matched. I looked everywhere but I couldn’t find any plain black lace ruffle socks for newborn girls, so I decided to make my own, I mean how hard could it be, right? So I bought a pair of newborn black socks and a roll of black organza and sequin lace from hobby lobby and I was ready to go. It was such an easy project that took less than 15 minutes from start to finish and I loved the way they turned out! I am definitely planning to make a Riley a pair of these in every color!! 🙂
Here is what you need:
- Socks
- Fabric Glue
- Push Pins
- Ruffled Lace Ribbon
- Scissors
Step 1: Take a piece of lace ruffle ribbon and wrap it around the edge of the sock fold to see how much ribbon you are going to need. Once you’ve measured and cut one piece you can use that piece to measure out and cut the second piece
Step 2: Apply a fabric glue in small increments at the bottom of the sock fold
Step 3: Quickly place the Ruffle Lace ribbon to the area where you applied the glue. I used a push pin to keep the ribbon in place while the glue dried
Step 4: Continue adding glue and applying the lace around the sock fold. Make sure to pin the lace in place to ensure that it adheres securely onto the sock
Step 5: Once the glue dries remove the push pins and repeat the process for the second sock.
Now you have a pair of Lace Ruffle socks. What do you think?
Here is the complete outfit that I plan to take Riley home from the hospital in!!
