Baby Riley at 1 Month

I seriously can’t believe that Baby Riley turned 1 month old  on Thursday. Where on earth did the time go??? I swear I’m still getting used to not being pregnant. It took me two weeks to start sleeping on my stomach again and I feel guilty for drinking a glass of wine. I often have to stop and tell myself, it’s okay to go back to being you again, so not only am I adjusting to life as a mom I’m also adjusting to life without a baby in my belly. With that being said, I think it’s easy to lose track of time when you’re trying to adjust to such a drastic change in your life. One thing I’ve been working hard at is trying to treasure every minute with Baby Riley even the stressful ones because  I know my little baby is growing and changing with every passing day and before I know it she’s not going to be Baby Riley anymore.

So each month I am going to take pictures of Riley and write her a note from her dad and I sharing stories and milestones of her development that month. At the end of the first year I’m going to have a photo book made that I’ll give to her when she gets older.

While this is for Riley I wanted to share our journey during Riley’s first month. We are so proud of our little monkey!

    • Hi Carol, Thank you so much and congratulations to you and your daughter!! You don’t have long, February will be here before you know it!! Goodness in February Riley will be 6 months. Wow, time flies!! Thanks again for the sweet compliment!! 🙂 ~Jessica

  2. Oh, Jessica, Riley is just beautiful!!!! Do you take your own pictures? They are AMAZING!!!! Riley looks like a little princess, and I know she is going to LOVE your special book for her when she gets older!! What a brilliant and very special idea, but I’m not surprised because from the time I started following your blog, I knew you are a very special lady. Thank you again, so much, for sharing your life with us. I love to keep up with all of your doings…it’s kind of like my own little reality show on my computer…LOL! (But NO DRAMA!) How is Riley’s colic? Has it eased a bit? I hope so, for your sake.
Anyway, take care, and rest when you can!! I know how hard it is with a newborn…but, thankfully, it’s all so totally worth it!
    Fondly,
    Debbie Loftus

    • HI Debbie, Thank you so much!! I always love seeing your comments, they are sooooo sweet and mean so much, so thank you again for all of your kind words!! Riley’s colic is doing SOOOO much better, but she does still have gas problems at times; however it’s only when I can’t get her to burp. She does seem to be slightly more fussy at times but it’s now when she just wants to be held, so I hope i’m not spoiling her to the point where she has to have constant attention. I do take all the photos myself. I taped two pieces of foam board together and put a blanket over it and it makes a world of difference in the way the photos look. One day I’ll do a tutorial on how I do it 🙂 Thank you again for all of your support and sweet comments!! ~ Jessica
