I’m really hoping to finish giving the inside of my home a FALL Makeover by the end of the week. It’s taking me longer than I’d like, but I’m making progress. With that being said, I plan to share several Fall decorating projects throughout the week. Today I’m going to share a tutorial on how to Mod Podge wooden Letters; the letters that I’m going to Mod Podge spell out the word Fall; however some other ideas are Harvest, Autumn, Halloween, Give Thanks or Thanksgiving.
Here is what you will need
- Mod Podge
- Wooden Letters
- Paint Brush or Foam Brush
- Scrap Book Paper
- Paint
- Scissors
Step 1: Paint your letters a color that matches the scrapbook paper. I painted mine letters brown since the scrapbook paper i’m using is brown and white.

Step 2: Turn the piece of scrapbook paper so that it’s face down. Place the letters backwards on the scrapbook paper (this is so that you can’t see the pencil marks on the front side) and then trace around the letters using a pencil.

Step 3: Cut out the letters using scissors, be careful to cut exactly on the line so you will have a perfect fit; however if the scrapbook paper is slightly larger than the wooden letter you can take an x-acto knife when you are completely finished to cut off the edges to get a perfect fit.

Step 4: Once the paint has dried apply a coat of Mod Podge onto the front of the wooden letters

Step 5: Apply a coat of Mod Podge on the back of the scrapbook paper

Step 6: Place the scrapbook paper onto the wooden letter (remember, if it’s not a perfect fit you can always go back with an x-acto knife when you are finished to trim the excess paper)
Step 7: Apply a final coat of Mod Podge onto the front of the scrapbook paper to seal the edge

Yay, you’re done!!! Now you’re ready to put them on display!!

Gorgeous! Thanks for posting the link to your blog on the Craft Forum. This is a great simple project. I’m digging the shelf display too.
Thanks Michelle!! I’m so glad you enjoyed!!
